Our Sharps Waste services include the storage, removal and disposal of the following items;

The safe management of sharps is covered under the UK Health and Safety Legislation and anyone who deals with sharps are responsible for the safe disposal of the waste to minimise any risk. Sharps bins are all Yellow and have a coloured lid depending on the type of sharp which is being disposed of. United Clinical Waste will work with you to ensure the correct unit is being used. The 3 coloured lid options are as follows;
- Containers with Orange lids are for non-pharmaceutical sharps. This means the sharps could have been used for things such as acupuncture, blood or inks.
- Containers with Yellow lids are for partially and fully discharged sharps which have contained anaesthetics or medicines.
- Containers with Purple lids are specifically for cyto sharps which are contaminated with Cytotoxic and Cytostatic medicines.
